‘The 14th of March marks a notable occasion and the beginning of a new chapter filled with endless opportunities for Madzivhandila Agricultural College graduates.’ These were motivational utterances from the MEC for Limpopo Agriculture and Rural Development, Nakedi Kekana, as she officiated the graduation ceremony for Madzi College at Khalahari Resort.
The graduates were encouraged to seize the moment as they hold the tools and knowledge to enter the agricultural industry, which is crucial to the country’s economy and sustainability.
Kekana told the graduates that the college, through collaborations with other stakeholders, prepared them to work in agriculture and to shape its future.
“We are committed to continuously collaborating with industry leaders and other institutions of higher learning. Partnerships with the agricultural industry are crucial in ensuring that our curriculum remains relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with the latest trends and technological advancements. Through these collaborations, we are able to equip you not just with knowledge, but with the skills and practical experience needed to tackle the challenges of both today and the future,” said Kekana.
She emphasized the value of innovation as she encourages the graduates to think creatively and contribute to the issues of food insecurity.
“I encourage you to think beyond traditional roles and aim for leadership. Start your own businesses, innovate within the sector, and find solutions that fight food insecurity. The challenges we face, such as ensuring sustainable food production for our communities, require innovative thinkers like you,” she added.
