In a world where beauty standards often seem unattainable, a remarkable story is unfolding that challenges perceptions and inspires hope. Kwena Vinolia Nkgoeng, a spirited 32-year-old SAPS administrative clerk who, despite facing physical challenges, has chosen to embrace her passion for beauty pageantry. Her journey is not just about competing; it is a celebration of strength, resilience, and the power of self-love.
As a competitor in the first-ever Miss South Africa Disability Pageant, Kwena Vinolia Nkgoeng is making a significant contribution to the cause of disability rights and the dismantling of social obstacles.
Nkgoeng currently serves as an administrative clerk in the Finance Expenditure and Salary Division at the SAPS Limpopo Provincial Office. In the spirit of advocating for inclusion and empowerment, she is taking a firm transition as she steps into the beauty pageantry industry as a contestant in the Miss South Africa Disability Pageant. She says that she believes real beauty shines from within and that confidence is the most captivating accessory anyone can wear.
She said her journey in the pageantry has not been long, yet she is aiming high in this year’s competitive beauty show.
“I have just entered the competition recently, but what I can say is that the feedback and support that I’m receiving thus far is keeping me motivated and more determined to make it to the finals,” she indicated.
Vinolia says she needs as much support as she can get to make it to the top. “The Miss SA Disability project is a new initiative that started last year, and with this year being the second year of its existence, I have a desire to be part of the history-making of this remarkable project, which I believe that with more awareness and publicity, it will be a great success,” she added.
The manager for Miss South Africa Disability 2025, Tondani Tshilande, emphasized that with the prestigious Miss South Africa Disability, the aim is to shine the bright light on empowering people living with disabilities.
“We aim to create a powerful platform that celebrates the strength, talent, and potential of people living with disabilities. This project is not just a pageant but a movement towards inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunities.
He added that they have witnessed a great deal of positive impact previously through their initiatives. “Looking back at our previous projects, we’ve seen real change: from increased confidence among participants to new educational and career opportunities, media recognition, and community support.”
