Bloodriver—As the countdown begins for the highly anticipated Bigman Soccer Tournament at Bloodriver, Thakgalang Sports Ground, from the 2nd of August to the 10th of August 2025, preparations are in full swing. The tournament organisers promise to bring an unforgettable sporting experience filled with thrilling soccer matches as 16 local soccer clubs are set to go head-to-head for amazing prizes up for grabs.

The organising team, led by their manager Maleka Photo, says they are confident that the tournament will be a success following a sleepless series of stakeholder engagements. Teams will be announced prior to the tournament later in August.

“We are currently working around the clock to put together the teams that will be participating to get them geared up for this prestigious event. Coaches and players will have to start training rigorously, focusing on enhancing their skills and physical fitness levels.” Said Photo.

Photo told Limpopo Insider that sponsorships will be highly needed during this tournament, as they have a pivotal role to play to ensure that this grand tournament becomes a success story.

“We are appealing to local businesses, enthusiastic about supporting community sports, to step up to back the event financially and with other basic needs such as soccer kits, soccer balls, medals, gazebos, as well as sports beverages,” Photo added.

As the free-entry sporting event approaches, the anticipation builds around the diverse lineup of soccer matches. Fans can look forward to witnessing some of the best local talents competing fiercely for glory. The atmosphere is expected to be electric, with cheering crowds and spirited rivalries adding to the overall fun and excitement. Beyond the matches, various activities will be organised throughout the week, ensuring that there’s something for everyone, from food stalls to entertainment for all ages.

Those interested in partnering with the tournament organisers during the tournament are encouraged to contact the organisers of the tournament, Jacobus Moloto, on 0784492833, or Moses Kwetja on 0712040394.
